Azerbaijan’s national carrier, AZAL, is launching regular flights to the Kazakh city of Shymkent starting this June, with tickets already available for purchase.
The maiden flight on the Baku-Shymkent-Baku route is scheduled for June 16. The flight schedule will operate as follows:
- From June 16 to June 27: Twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
- From June 30 onwards: Three times a week. Flights from Baku to Shymkent will depart on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, while return flights from Shymkent to Baku will operate on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
Shymkent becomes the fourth city in Kazakhstan to join AZAL’s growing route network.
Over the course of 2025, the airline successfully operated around 850 regular round-trip flights to Almaty, Astana, and Aktau.
This new route offers Shymkent residents an easy way to visit Baku and access convenient transit options through Azerbaijan’s capital.
Passengers can connect to AZAL’s extensive network, including popular destinations like Istanbul, Dubai, Tel Aviv, Milan, London, and Prague, as well as various other cities across the Middle East, Europe, and Asia.
