Sirena-Travel CJSC, leading Russian provider of complex technology solutions for distribution of air transportation, took part in one of the biggest annual events of IATA - World Passenger Symposium (WPS), which was held on 29-31 October 2013 in Dublin (Ireland).
Under the theme “From Service to Value - a customer driven transformation”, the agenda has focused on the customer experience from shopping for air travel to the actual airport experience. A particular focus was given to New Distribution Capability (NDC) and to the new programs that will impact the passenger airport experience, such as the Checkpoint of the Future.

NDC is an IATA-led collaborative industry initiative to define a messaging standard that will enable retailing opportunities through the indirect (GDS/travel agent) channel. Today, the GDS responds to a request from a travel agent to compile an airline offer based on price and schedule by tapping into fare and schedule databases maintained by outside companies. This offer is put together anonymously outside the airline by intermediaries and the airline does not know who the customer is before a reservation is made. In contrast, once the data standard is in place, airlines participating in NDC will be able to make offers that meet the needs of the end user as identified by the customer, the agent, or another authorized third party. This enables both the airline as well as the travelagency to custom-tailor product/service offers.
Besides World Passenger Symposium, «Sirena -Travel " is also participant in other key events of IATA, defining the trends of the global airline industry development . Among them are Annual General Meeting (IATA AGM), various work groups of IATA. Close cooperation with the International Air Transport Association provides "Sirena –Travel“ an invaluable platform to collaborate with other aviation leaders on mutual concerns and emerging issues. That allows to contribute to the development of innovative solutions to industry challenges and priorities.
