The Russian air transportation market is systematically moving towards recovery after the Covid19 pandemic.
According to the analytical data of the Sirena company, for the third decade of August, the passenger traffic on the domestic airlines of the Russian Federation not only fully recovered, but also exceeded the last year's volumes by more than 6%.
Domestic charter flights exceeded last year's volumes by more than 75%, and online ticket sales grew by more than 20% compared to the same period in 2019.
In August, Russia partially opened international flights: airlines began operating flights to seven countries (Great Britain, Turkey, Tanzania, Switzerland, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Montenegro), from September 7, Greece will open its borders for Russians. The start of flights to Egypt, UAE and Maldives was announced.
Without expanding the list of countries with which air traffic can be resumed, the revival of the air transportation market outlined in late summer will significantly slow down the pace of recovery. An increase in the growth rate of air traffic will be facilitated by the start of regular flights with the CIS and Baltic countries.
The market is also destabilized by fake stuffing about repeated restrictive measures due to the coronavirus, they slow down the booking of air tickets for the winter flight programs of airlines for the 2020-2021 season, restricting passenger traffic.
